Cowboy Site Services helped clear out my MILs garage that was full of large, heavy, and awkward junk/debris that needed to be disposed of. They were super timely, helpful, and courteous! I would definitely use them again!
Cowboy Site Services removes old refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers and water heaters from Allen homes and hauls them off. We unhook standard plug-in and water-line connections, then carry the unit out ourselves. One appliance usually fits our Minimum Pickup tier, from $189, and we're about 15 minutes from McKinney.
Upgrade season in Allen kitchens and laundry rooms
Plenty of Allen homes still have first-wave owners in them. As those owners upgrade or downsize, the original range, dishwasher and washer-dryer pair get replaced.
The new unit arrives, and the old one ends up in the garage waiting for a plan. We take it from there, whether it's one dishwasher or a full kitchen's worth.
Our main appliance removal page explains how we unhook water lines and protect floors on the way out.
Why a fridge is harder than a couch on bulk day
Allen does accept appliances at the curb, but fridges, freezers and AC units come with an extra step. They need a refrigerant-removal tag before the bulk crew will take them.
That rule applies to units you set out for collection. A fridge that leaves on our trailer is never left at the curb waiting for a crew. Empty it, and we handle the carry and the haul.
Already tagged it for bulk day and missed the crew? We'll still take it, tag or no tag.
Taking it to the transfer station yourself
Allen points residents to a transfer station that accepts household appliances, Freon units included. The load has to come in a car, pickup or flatbed rental, and it has to be tarped or tied down.
That's a lot of strapping for one washer. If you'd rather skip the trip, we load it, cover it and handle the drop-off.
Our guide on how to get rid of old appliances compares every route side by side.
The 150-pound line and the trip to the curb
Every Allen bulk item has to come in under 150 pounds. Upright freezers, side-by-side fridges and full water heaters can run past that.
Even a lighter unit still has to reach the curb by 7 a.m. on your bulk Saturday. Walking a washer out of an upstairs laundry room is where floors and banisters get hurt.
We do that walk with a strapped dolly and an eye on every corner. Our refrigerator disposal guide covers the other routes if you'd rather go it alone.
Gas appliances in Allen homes
Some Allen houses have gas ranges, dryers or water heaters. Anything hard-plumbed into a gas line needs a licensed plumber to disconnect it before we arrive.
Once it's capped and free, we carry it out like any other unit. Tell us about gas in your photos so we plan the right visit.
Two units at once is common, like a dead garage fridge plus a chest freezer. Both usually still fit a small load, so empty them and keep the doors shut until we arrive.

Often, yes, within limits. Allen's bulk item page takes washers, dryers and water heaters, sets a weight cap, and asks for that tag on refrigerant units. Residents can also self-haul to a transfer station that takes appliances.
Where the city route stalls is the heavy carry and the wait for your Saturday. We take the unit from where it sits, on a day you pick. The rest of the city's schedule is in our Allen bulk trash guide.

Appliance Removal in Allen: questions
Can you pull the old range the same week my new one is delivered?
Yes, as long as it isn't hard-plumbed into gas. We don't install the replacement, so the delivery crew or your installer handles that part.
Can you get a water heater out of an Allen garage closet?
Yes. Drain it first if you can, and shut off the water. Electric units we can unhook, and gas units need a plumber to disconnect them before we come.
I also have a fridge at a rental in Plano. Do you go there too?
We do. Our Plano appliance removal page covers how that city handles appliances, and both can be quoted from photos. Learn more about our coverage on the Allen service area page.
