About McKinney

McKinney is home.

It's also the widest range of housing we work in. Within about four miles of the square you'll find century-old homes with attics that have never been fully emptied, the 1990s and 2000s build-out through Stonebridge Ranch, newer construction out west, and Adriatica, which doesn't look like anywhere else in Texas. Craig Ranch adds a whole different mix of townhomes and newer builds on the south side.

What comes up in McKinney

The older stock near downtown gives us most of our estate and whole-house work — houses that have been in one family a long time, where the job is as much about sorting carefully as it is about hauling.

Out through Stonebridge Ranch and Craig Ranch it's garages, attics, and furniture: households that moved in fifteen or twenty years ago and are now clearing space, replacing a sectional, or getting a house ready to list. The newer neighborhoods on the west side keep us in remodel debris and construction leftovers.

For pricing, what we take and how a job goes, start with our junk removal McKinney home page — this page is the local detail.

What do we haul out of McKinney homes?

Near the historic square, a typical call is an attic or back bedroom nobody has touched in years. In Stonebridge Ranch and Craig Ranch, it's more often a sectional, a treadmill or a garage that quietly filled up. Out west, it's remodel scraps and leftover building materials.

Send a few photos and we'll give you an honest estimate. Pick a time that works, Monday through Saturday. On the day, we carry everything out, load the trailer and sweep up behind us.

How does McKinney's bulky item pickup work?

McKinney's residential trash page says bulky item collection is by appointment only. You book it through the Waste Wizard before noon on the business day before collection. Each household gets up to 12 free collections a year.

Each set-out has to fit inside 3.5 feet tall, 3 feet deep and 9 feet long, or be two large household pieces. The city skips construction and demolition materials, pallets, tires, auto parts and household hazardous waste.

Yard waste goes out weekly with no scheduling, capped at 10 bags or bundles. Limbs need cutting to 4-foot lengths, no thicker than 6 inches. Our McKinney bulk trash and brush guide walks through every rule.

When does a hauler beat waiting for the city?

The city program handles one recliner or a few bundles of limbs just fine. It gets slow when a whole room, a remodel pile or a packed garage needs to leave at once.

Remodel leftovers are the clearest case, since bulky pickup excludes construction materials. McKinney also charges for collections past the 12th in a year or for excessive quantities. We take the whole lot in one visit, with same-day service when the schedule allows.

Paint, chemicals and motor oil stay off our trailer as well. McKinney picks up household hazardous waste curbside by request, and our hazardous waste guide covers the other options.

Which McKinney jobs come up most?

Families settling a long-held home near downtown often book an estate cleanout in McKinney, where keepsakes get set aside before anything is hauled. In the subdivisions, a McKinney garage or attic cleanout is the usual first call.

Storm limbs and overgrown corners go through our yard debris and brush service. Backyard teardowns have their own page under shed removal in McKinney, quoted per job.

McKinney's own rules

What the city publishes about bulk pickup, drop-off sites and household hazardous waste— each with its source and the date we read it. Rules change, so the city's page is the final word.

McKinney: common questions

Do McKinney residents pay a trip fee?

No. We're based in McKinney, and there's no distance surcharge, fuel surcharge or labor add-on anywhere we work. The price comes from how much trailer space your load takes.

Can I drop off junk myself in McKinney?

Yes. McKinney lists the Custer Road, Lookout Drive and Parkway transfer stations and the 121 Regional Disposal Facility in Melissa as drop-off options. The first two visits each month are free with a recent McKinney water bill and a matching Texas driver's license.

Will you take what the city's bulky pickup won't?

Remodel debris and loads too big for one set-out, yes. We don't take tires, motor oil, chemicals, wet paint, asbestos or ammunition.
