About Howe
Howe is a genuinely small town on US-75 between Van Alstyne and Sherman — a few thousand people and a lot of open ground around it.
What comes up in Howe
Most of what we take out of Howe comes off properties with land: outbuildings and sheds coming down, old fencing, brush and downed limbs, and equipment or scrap that's been sitting since the last owner.
The rest is what any town gives you — a garage that needs clearing, furniture on the way out, a house being emptied before it sells.
What do we pick up around Howe?
Small-town homes here still fill up the usual way. A spare room of old furniture, a mattress set, a worn-out range, or a garage that stopped holding a car.
Properties with land add their own list: sheet metal, broken equipment, scrap piles and limbs dragged to the fence. It all goes on one trailer, so you aren't sorting it into separate trips.
To book, send a few pictures and choose a day. We show up, do the furniture removal and appliance pickup, then sweep where the pile sat.
How does Howe's monthly bulk day work?
Howe's bulk collection runs through Frontier Waste Solutions on the second Saturday of each month, per the city's utilities page. Items need to be at the curb by 7 a.m.
That day takes things like mattresses, furniture, stoves and water heaters. Brush goes out in bundles of 45 pounds or less, each under 4 feet long.
Some things stay behind. Freon items aren't taken without an HVAC certificate. Tires, batteries, chemicals, fertilizer, propane, paint, concrete, bricks, rocks and construction materials are out too.
Why not just wait for the second Saturday?
Once a month is a long wait when a house needs to be empty before a sale closes. Miss one bulk day and you're looking at another month.
The Freon rule matters too. If an old fridge or window unit can't go to the curb, we can haul it as part of a regular load.
Fallen limbs are heavy, and cutting them under 4 feet takes time, so we'll load brush and limbs without the bundling. A large clearing job may need rented equipment, so we schedule those instead of promising same day.
Can you take down a small outbuilding in Howe?
Light teardown of small sheds and old fence runs is part of our light demolition work. Each job is quoted individually after we've had a look.
Howe's 2026 fee schedule lists a demolition permit and notes the contractor must provide an asbestos survey.
Permits are usually handled by the general contractor or the homeowner when a city asks for one. If nobody else is pulling a needed permit, we can usually handle it, for an added fee that varies by city.

Can you take a refrigerator the city won't?
Yes. We haul old fridges and freezers as part of a regular load. We unhook standard plug-in and water-line connections; anything hard-plumbed into gas needs a licensed plumber first.
Does a place out in the country cost more?
No. Pricing is by trailer space only, with no distance surcharge, fuel fee or labor add-on anywhere in our service area.
