The stuff people ask us most

Answered plainly. Something we missed? Give us a ring and just ask.

Cowboy Site Services is a Veteran-owned, insured junk removal and light demolition company based in McKinney, serving Collin and Grayson County. Junk removal is priced by trailer space from $189, with a firm quote set before loading and payment at the end. We don't take hazardous materials or tires, and we don't do in-ground pools or structural demolition.

Booking & scheduling

Can you come out today?

Often, yes, when the schedule has room. It comes down to what's already booked that day. Reaching out early in the day gives you the best shot.

What are your hours?

We work Monday through Saturday, 9 to 6. We're closed on Sunday.

Do you serve my town?

We run McKinney, Allen, Frisco, Plano, Celina, Prosper, Sherman and the rest of Collin and Grayson County. Town not listed? Check our service areas page or call and ask.

Do I need to be home?

Not always. If you're not there, a gate code or lockbox can work, and we can send photos when the job's done. Tell us about anything that needs to stay.

What we take

What can't you take?

Five things: wet paint and chemicals, motor oil, asbestos, ammunition and tires. Our guide to household hazardous waste in Collin County covers where those can go. Nearly everything else is fine, so text a picture if you're unsure.

Do I have to move things to the curb?

No, that's what you're paying us for. Second floor, back of the garage, out in the yard or up in the attic, we do the carrying. You point, we load.

Do you haul hot tubs, sheds and playsets?

Yes. We take apart hot tubs, trampolines and playsets, load them and haul them off. We also tear down and remove sheds, quoted per job.

Do you unhook appliances?

We unhook standard plug-in and water-line connections. Anything hard-plumbed into gas needs a licensed plumber to disconnect it first. We'll tell you straight if that's the case.

Where does my stuff go?

We keep as much as we can out of the landfill. Usable items go to area charities, and metal, electronics and cardboard get pulled for recycling. What's truly finished is disposed of the proper way.

Pricing

How much does junk removal cost?

It's priced by how much room your load takes on the trailer. A Minimum Pickup starts at $189, a Half Trailer Load at $515 and a Full Trailer Load at $759. The pricing page shows what fits in each.

How do photo quotes work?

Text us a few pictures of what needs to go. We'll send back an honest estimate up front, free and with no obligation. When we arrive, we confirm a firm quote before anything is loaded.

Can the price go up after you start?

No. Weight and access can change things, which is why we set the firm quote on site before loading. Once you say go, it doesn't change, and there's no fuel, labor or distance surcharge.

When do I pay?

At the end, once the load is gone and you're satisfied with how the spot looks. Nothing is due up front. We'll go over payment methods when we set your appointment.

Are you insured?

Yes, Cowboy Site Services is insured. If something of yours gets damaged on the job, that's our problem to fix. Ask and we'll send the certificate.

Demolition scope

Do you do structural demolition?

No. We do light demolition only, like sheds, decks, fences and interior tear-outs, and nothing that needs an engineer or heavy machinery. Our light demolition page lists what's in scope.

Do you remove in-ground pools?

No, we don't do in-ground pools. We remove above-ground pools only. We take them down, load them up and haul them off.

Who pulls demolition permits?

Where a city requires a permit, it's usually pulled by the general contractor or the homeowner. If one is needed and nobody else is pulling it, we can usually pull it ourselves. That comes with an added fee that varies by city.

How is demolition priced?

Every demolition job is quoted on its own. Send photos and we'll quote the tear-out and haul-off together, then confirm it before work starts.

Cleanouts

Do you work with landlords and property managers?

Yes. We handle rental turnovers, eviction trash-outs and abandoned belongings after a move-out. Our page for property managers explains how those jobs run.

Can you clear out a loved one's home?

Yes, with care and at your pace. We set aside anything you want to keep before loading the rest. Our estate cleanout service covers how it works.

Do you sweep up when you're done?

Yes. Every job ends with a broom sweep of the spot we cleared. You look it over before you settle up.

Want the city side of it — what McKinney, Frisco, Sherman and the rest will pick up, where you can take things yourself, and when a permit comes into it? That's in our guides to getting rid of things in Collin and Grayson County. The fine print on estimates and payment is in our terms of service, and how we handle the photos and details you send is in our privacy policy. Newer questions get answered on our blog.

Ready to get it hauled off?

Send a picture or pick up the phone. You'll get a plain answer and an honest estimate — free, and it commits you to nothing.
