Shed Removal in Collin & Grayson County, TX
Cowboy Site Services removes old sheds in McKinney and across Collin and Grayson County. We tear the shed down, load it, haul it off and sweep the spot, and we can take what's inside on the same visit. Shed removal is quoted per job from your photos.
An old shed has a way of taking over a corner of the yard. The floor goes soft, the roof leaks, and the door won't close. Sooner or later it's just a box of rot you walk around.
Getting rid of it is two jobs. First it has to come down, and then a pile of siding, roofing and nail-filled framing has to go somewhere. We do both on the same trip, so you can use your backyard for what you want.
You deal with the owners, not a call center. We're Veteran-owned, locally run and insured, and we're based in McKinney. Homeowners there can find local details on our McKinney shed removal page.

What we can't take
Hazardous material stays off our trailer, and so do tires. Everything else is usually fine — text a photo if you're not sure.
- Wet paint and chemicals
- Motor oil
- Asbestos
- Ammunition
- Tires
- Bigger slabs, or footings that need heavy equipment to come out
- Electrical work on a shed with power run to it
- Garages and other structures attached to the house
- Wet paint, chemicals and motor oil stored inside
Where your stuff goes
Clean metal, like metal siding, roofing and hardware, gets pulled for recycling. Tools, furniture or other usable things from inside can go to area charities. Rotten wood, shingles and mixed debris go to the landfill the proper way.
Swept before we pull out
Loading the trailer isn't the end of the job. We sweep the floor, slab or driveway before we leave, so the space is ready to use that day. You pay once you've looked it over.
How does shed removal work?
A shed comes down in pieces and gets loaded as it comes apart. The roof comes off first, then the walls, then the floor frame. Nothing sits in a pile in your yard overnight.
Wood sheds come apart with pry bars and saws. Metal sheds come apart panel by panel. Either way, we load as we go and keep the debris off your lawn.
Once it's all on the trailer, we pick up the nails and small bits and sweep or rake the spot. You're left with open ground, not a scatter of shingles.
- Send photos for a quote.
- Pick a time.
- We haul it off and sweep up.
What happens to everything inside?
Most sheds aren't empty when it's time for them to go. Old mowers, rusty tools, holiday boxes and lawn chairs can all ride out on the same trailer. Pull out anything you want to keep first.
A few things can't go with us. Wet paint, chemicals and motor oil are on our list of things we don't take. The Collin County household hazardous waste guide covers where those can go.
What about the slab or floor under the shed?
A wood floor frame comes out with the rest of the shed. A poured slab is its own question.
A small pad can be quoted on its own as concrete removal. A bigger slab, or anything that needs heavy equipment, is outside what we do. We'll tell you which one you have when we see the photos.
What should I tell you before you quote?
Three things drive most of a shed quote: how big it is, what it's made of, and how we get to it. A gate, a slope or a long walk from the driveway all change the work.
Tell us too if the shed has power or water run to it. Have an electrician make the wiring safe before we take it down.
- A couple of photos from different angles
- A look inside, so we can see what's still there
- The path from the shed to the driveway
- Rough size, and wood or metal
Playsets, pergolas and other backyard jobs
A shed often isn't the only thing that has to go. An old playset, a trampoline or a hot tub can come out on the same trip through our playset and hot tub removal service.
Pergolas, gazebos, decks and fence lines are light demolition work too. Our shed and playset removal guide walks through what's involved if you're weighing it up.
How it works: three steps
- 01
Send photos for a quote
Text a few photos of what's going, or call. You get an honest estimate back without waiting for a visit.
- 02
Pick a time
Choose a time that works for you. Same-day service is often possible when the schedule has room.
- 03
We haul it off and sweep up
We confirm a firm price before anything is loaded. Then we carry it out, haul it off and sweep the spot.
Prefer a form? You can request a quote online and attach photos there.
“I especially loved that I was able to just send photos of my items and get a quote instantly vs the companies that want to “come see the stuff” before giving an estimate.”
How shed removal is priced
Shed removal is quoted per job, because a small metal shed and a big wood one aren't the same work. Send photos and we'll give you an honest estimate up front. The tear-down and the haul-off are quoted together, and that price is firm before anything comes down.
If you've already knocked the shed down yourself, the pile can be priced as a haul-off load by how much trailer space it takes. Either way, you pay at the end, once you're satisfied.
A shed teardown and a bathroom gut aren't the same work, so we don't publish one number for both. Send photos and we'll quote the tear-out and the haul-off together.Debris you've already torn out and stacked is priced as a haul-off load:
Minimum Pickup
from$189
A handful of items already set out and easy to reach.
Half Trailer Load
from$515
One emptied room, a stuffed garage bay, or a decent pile out back.
Full Trailer Load
from$759
Full cleanouts, big moves, estate jobs, and heavy remodel debris.

Common questions
How much does shed removal cost?
We quote sheds per job instead of publishing one number. Size, material and access all change the work. Send a few photos and you'll get one price for the tear-down and the haul-off.
Do I need a permit to tear down a shed?
It depends on your city, so check with yours before you book. Where a city requires a permit, it's usually pulled by the general contractor or the homeowner. If one is needed and nobody else is pulling it, we can usually pull it ourselves for an added fee that varies by city.
Can you haul off what's inside the shed too?
Yes, on the same visit. Pull out anything you're keeping, plus wet paint, chemicals and motor oil, which we can't take.
Do you take down metal sheds?
Yes. Metal sheds come apart panel by panel, and clean metal gets pulled for recycling. Tell us it's metal when you send photos.
Can you take a shed down the same day I call?
Sometimes. Same-day service is available when the schedule allows it. Send photos early and ask, and we'll tell you honestly what's open.
Do you remove shed slabs?
A small pad can be quoted as concrete removal. A bigger slab, or anything that needs heavy equipment, is outside what we do.
