Cowboy Site Services helped clear out my MILs garage that was full of large, heavy, and awkward junk/debris that needed to be disposed of. They were super timely, helpful, and courteous! I would definitely use them again!
Cowboy Site Services does appliance removal in Prosper, TX, carrying out refrigerators, chest freezers, washers, dryers, ranges and water heaters. We unhook standard plug-in and water-line connections, and one appliance usually fits the Minimum Pickup, from $189. We're about 20 minutes from our base in McKinney.
Builder-grade swaps and upgrade leftovers
Plenty of Prosper houses still have the appliances the builder put in, and owners often upgrade them. A bigger fridge or a matched laundry pair arrives, and the original unit has to go.
Some stores haul the old one away, and some don't. When they don't, it usually ends up parked in the three-car garage beside the move-in boxes.
That's an easy call for us. We carry it out from the garage or straight from the kitchen, and the moving boxes can go on the same trailer.
The fridge tag problem
Prosper's weekly bulk pickup takes washers, dryers, water heaters and most kitchen appliances. Refrigerant is where it gets tricky.
Before a fridge, freezer or window unit can go to the curb, the town wants a certified technician's tag showing the refrigerant is out. Finding and paying someone for that is a project of its own.
When we haul one, you skip that step on your end. We load it as is, door shut and emptied, and take it from there.
Second fridges, chest freezers and garage units
Three-car garages tend to collect a spare fridge or a chest freezer. When one quits, it's heavy, awkward and usually sitting behind a car or a stack of bins.
We clear a path, strap it to a dolly and walk it out without dragging it across the garage floor. Let us know if a freezer is still frosted over, so it can thaw first.
Some households keep a beverage fridge or wine cooler out there too. A small unit like that usually fits alongside a bigger one in the same tier.
Gas hookups and what we unhook
We disconnect plug-in units and standard water lines, like an ice maker line or washer hoses. That covers most of what comes out of a Prosper kitchen or laundry room.
A gas range, gas dryer or gas water heater is different. Anything hard-plumbed into gas needs a plumber to cap it before we move it.
Send a photo of the hookup with your quote request if you're unsure. Our main appliance removal service page explains the rest.
Microwaves, compactors and the small stuff
Not every appliance call is a big one. Over-the-range microwaves, trash compactors, wine coolers and dehumidifiers come out when a kitchen gets updated.
Prosper's at-door hazardous waste program does take microwaves, but it's booked once a year. If you've got a few small units plus the old range, we take them all on one trip.

Prosper's rules below make most appliances easy to set out, apart from anything with refrigerant. Those need the technician's tag, even for the yearly spring cleanup. The Town of Prosper's trash and recycling page lists the details, including microwaves through the at-door hazardous waste program.
We fill in when there's no tag, no help to move it, or no time to wait for trash day. The Prosper bulk trash and brush pickup guide covers the town's side. Our Prosper service area page lists everything else we haul there.

Appliance Removal in Prosper: questions
Do I need a refrigerant tag if you haul my old fridge in Prosper?
Not from you. The tag is the town's rule for curbside pickup. When we take it, it leaves on our trailer, not at your curb.
Can you take the old fridge on the day the replacement arrives?
Often, yes, when the schedule allows. Book a time just before or after the delivery, and empty the old one the night before.
Do you pick up appliances near Prosper too?
