Drywall Removal in McKinney & Collin County, TX
Cowboy Site Services pulls drywall down to the studs in McKinney and Collin County homes and hauls the scrap off the same visit. It's for remodels and for sections that got wet once the leak is fixed. Drywall tear-out is quoted per job from photos, with removal and haul-off on one price.
Drywall is light by the sheet and heavy by the room. Once it's off the studs it's broken board, screws, tape and a lot of dust, and it fills a trailer faster than people expect.
Most drywall jobs start with a remodel, a room going back to the studs, or a section that got wet. We pull it and haul it off the same visit, on one invoice. It's part of the interior side of our light demolition service.
You tell us which walls and where the tear-out stops, and we work to that line. We're insured, and you deal with the owners, not a call center.

What we can't take
Hazardous material stays off our trailer, and so do tires. Everything else is usually fine — text a photo if you're not sure.
- Wet paint and chemicals
- Motor oil
- Asbestos
- Ammunition
- Tires
- Framing, and anything structural, including load-bearing walls
- Mold testing or remediation
- Water damage drying and restoration
- Electrical and plumbing inside the wall
- Asbestos, including tearing out materials that contain it
Where your stuff goes
Drywall scrap, tape and mixed remodel debris are disposed of properly. Clean metal like corner bead gets pulled for recycling when there's enough of it. Appliances on the same load are handled the way our appliance removal work handles them.
Swept before we pull out
Loading the trailer isn't the end of the job. We sweep the floor, slab or driveway before we leave, so the space is ready to use that day. You pay once you've looked it over.
How does a drywall tear-out go?
Power to the walls coming open gets shut off at the breaker first. Trim and baseboard come off, then the board comes off the studs in pieces.
Screws and nails come out with it, and the scrap gets loaded as we go. When the walls are bare, we sweep the room before we leave.
If ceilings are part of it, tell us when you send photos. Ceiling board is slower and messier than walls, and it changes the quote.
Can you pull drywall after a leak?
Once the leak's fixed and the area's dry, yes. The wet sections come out like any other drywall.
Mold is a different job. If there's mold behind the board, get a specialist in first, then call us for the tear-out and haul-off.
Send photos of anything wet or stained. If it looks like a live leak or mold, we'll tell you to handle that before we quote.
Where does drywall removal stop?
We take the board off; the framing stays where it is. Taking out a wall that might be load-bearing is structural work, and that isn't ours.
Our guide on light versus structural demolition explains where that line sits. If you're not sure about a wall, have an engineer or general contractor look before anyone cuts.
Older homes can also have materials worth testing before tear-out. Asbestos is on our list of things we won't take, so test first if you're unsure.
Can you haul drywall I already pulled down?
Yes. Scrap that's already off the wall goes out as construction debris, priced by how much room it takes on the trailer.
A Minimum Pickup starts at $189, a Half Trailer Load at $515 and a Full Trailer Load at $759. Bag the dusty bits and stack the board near the door or in the garage.
Remodel debris rarely comes alone. Old flooring, cabinets and a dead dishwasher can ride the same load.
Do I need a permit for drywall tear-out?
Some cities require a permit for interior demolition on a remodel, and rules differ from town to town. Where a city requires a permit, it's usually pulled by the general contractor or the homeowner. If one is needed and nobody else is pulling it, we can usually pull it ourselves for an added fee that varies by city.

How to get ready for drywall removal
A little prep keeps the dust and the surprises down. If the walls are part of a bigger remodel, our interior demolition page covers the rest of the tear-out.
- Mark which walls come down to the studs, and where it stops.
- Tell us whether ceilings are part of it.
- Turn off power to the walls coming open, and point out outlets and switches.
- Move furniture out of the room, or tell us if it's going too.
- Tell us if the drywall is wet or there's been a leak.

“I especially loved that I was able to just send photos of my items and get a quote instantly vs the companies that want to “come see the stuff” before giving an estimate.”
How drywall removal is priced
Drywall is quoted per job, not by the square foot, because ceilings, access and how much comes out change the work. Send photos for an honest estimate up front, then a firm quote for the tear-out and haul-off together before we start. You pay at the end, once you've looked the room over.
A shed teardown and a bathroom gut aren't the same work, so we don't publish one number for both. Send photos and we'll quote the tear-out and the haul-off together.Debris you've already torn out and stacked is priced as a haul-off load:
Minimum Pickup
from$189
A handful of items already set out and easy to reach.
Half Trailer Load
from$515
One emptied room, a stuffed garage bay, or a decent pile out back.
Full Trailer Load
from$759
Full cleanouts, big moves, estate jobs, and heavy remodel debris.

Common questions
How much does drywall removal cost?
We quote it per job instead of publishing a per-square-foot number. How many walls, whether ceilings are in it, and access all change the work. Send photos and you'll get one price for the tear-out and the haul-off.
How do I get rid of old drywall?
You don't have to haul it yourself. We tear it out and it leaves on our trailer the same visit. Our notes on construction debris disposal after a remodel cover your other options.
What's the best way to take out drywall?
Know what's in the wall before you open it: wiring, plumbing and anything that got wet. Then it's hand work, board off the studs with the screws. If you'd rather hand it off, we do the tear-out and the haul-off together.
Can you do the bathroom while you're here?
Often, yes. A bathroom tear-out usually includes drywall anyway. Send photos of the whole room.
Do you take out flooring too?
Yes. Carpet, pad, tile and vinyl can come up on the same job. See flooring and carpet removal for the details.
